Why psychotherapy?

Life is difficult for all of us at one point or another. Some of us are lucky enough to have a parent, friend, partner, or mentor in our lives who we feel safe with. Yet even with those we feel most comfortable with, we may, at times, hold back parts of ourselves in order to maintain the dynamics in the relationship. Sometimes we do this with awareness, other times we do not. Coming to therapy is giving yourself dedicated time to explore your depths with no limits. It is a space to examine experiences or parts of you that you may not feel comfortable fully exposing in other areas of your life. It is a place to redefine and clarify who you are.

Will Therapy Work?

“I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become.”
— Carl Jung

Engaging in psychotherapeutic work is a commitment to a deeper and more truthful relationship with yourself. Therapy is not a magic pill or overnight miracle. Continuing to show up for the journey inward is not always easy, but it can lead to a more meaningful and authentic life.

Clients have shared that in working together they have seen a decrease in anxiety, apathy, depressive feelings, self-criticism, fear, shame, and guilt. Likewise, they have reported an increase in confidence, self-compassion, mindfulness, ease, self-efficacy, emotional regulation, and self-awareness.

I would love to speak to you about what your hopes and goals are for therapy. If we are not a good fit, I am happy to help you find someone who is.
